Friday Night Filmworks will continue tonight at Pruis Hall with "Sex and the City: The Movie." The 2008 film reunites the cast of the HBO series "Sex and the City" and continues to tell the story of Carrie Bradshaw, a sex columnist looking for love in Manhattan, and her three friends. The television series ran from 1998 until 2004 and become one of television's most beloved and innovative hits of all time. Based on the book by Candace Bushnell, "Sex and the City" starred Sarah Jessica Parker as pun-loving Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall as sex-crazed Samantha Jones, Cynthia Nixon as cynical lawyer Miranda Hobbs and Kristin Davis as the ultimate optimist Charlotte York. The film is written and directed by Michael Patrick King, who was the voice behind most of the television series' best episodes. The film picks up four years after the final episode of the show. "Sex and the City: The Movie" was a big hit, especially among women, making more than $150 million in the United States. Showtime for "Sex and the City" will be 9 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Ball State students get in free with their IDs and guests will be charged $1.
