For nearly eight years, Muncie Downtown Development has worked to promote growth and increase quality of life for the Muncie community, Program Manager Cheryl Crowder said.
Events such as ArtsWalk, Harvest Moon Film Festival and Muncie Gras have been entertaining residents for years, she said.
"There is something for everyone down here," Crowder said. "There is entertainment of all kinds, you don't have to be 21. There are more than bars."
Kirk's Bike Shop 124 S. Walnut St. Established in 1865, Kirk's is the only bike shop in town. It offers a full line of Trek, Haro and Giant bikes. Name brand bike accessories and apparel, including Nike, are available. Kirk's also sells BMX and freestyle bikes and equipment.

The Artist Within 313 S. Walnut St. Ball State students receive a 10 percent discount with a student ID. Customers can take informal pottery classes, which range from painting premade pottery to throwing their own at the wheel. In addition, owner Bob Hartley offers parties and classes. Muncie Civic Theatre 216 E. Main St. The Muncie Civic Theatre offers a place for students to see theatrical shows at a reasonable price.
