SEAN BAKER With less than 40 seconds in the game, freshman safety Sean Baker intercepted a pass from Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour to secure Ball State's 31-24 win Wednesday. No. 17 Ball State (11-0, 7-0 MAC) remains one of five undefeated teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision and can clinch a berth in the MAC Championship game with a win against Western Michigan next week.
Player of the week
JARROD JONESE Playing in his first two collegiate games, freshman center Jarrod Jones had double-doubles in a win against Eastern Illinois University on Saturday and in a loss against Butler University on Wednesday. In the season opener, Jones had a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds.
