The Ball State University Sports Administration program will be hosting a dodgeball tournament at 11 a.m. Saturday at the racquetball courts in Irving Gym.

The format of the tournament is 4-on-4 double elimination and each match consists of a best-of-three set.

Each participant will receive a free T-shirt and the winners will get a championship trophy.

The event was organized by David Pierce's Sports Administration Event Management 402 class, that organizes a sporting event for the university each semester.

The walk-up fee is $24 and proceeds from the tournament will go to the Muncie Fire Dept. to replace and improve outdated equipment. The event is presented by Vera Bradley and sponsored by Willowbrook Interiors and Pi Sigma Epsilon Business Fraternity.

"It's a sport that anyone can participate in and it's for a good cause," Andrew Lentz, a student in Pierce's class, said. "The fire department is essential to helping the community."
