Students and faculty looking for food and beverages on the south end of Ball State University's campus now have a small window of opportunity to find them.

Terrace Café, the only functioning dining area in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center, has restricted its business hours to 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for the Spring Semester.

Assistant director of dining Liz Poore said dining decided to cutback operating hours in the semester-old cafe due to lack of business.

She said reducing the hours will increase efficiency.

"This is just a temporary situation for us and something we did for the Ball State community," Poore said.

The ongoing renovations to the Student Center hampered business, she said. Dining considered delaying the opening until the renovations to the Student Center were complete, she said, but went through with it after considering the amount of people on the south side of campus.

Poore said she expected business and hours to increase once the dining area construction is complete at the Student Center.
