Hardcore music takes hard work. Senior Dave Jordan specializes in both.

Last fall, Jordan and longtime friend Brian Kapinos formed Lakeview Records.

"It was something we always talked about," Jordan said. "So finally we sat down and said 'Hey, we are going to do this?' "

The music he promotes with his new label through bands like recently-signed The Poison Written is exactly what one would expect, given its brash name.

Bonnie and Clyde, Sonny and Cher, Starsky and Hutch and Milo and Otis are some of history's most popular and powerful pairings. But they can't beat a girl and her handbag. Cher might have had her "babe," but give the right girl a Coach, Louis Vuitton or Coco Chanel handbag and she'll be just as satisfied.

The latest Tower Players' production, "Biedermann and the Firebugs," aims to say something important and, despite a few minor flaws, scores a direct hit with its cautionary tale about accommodating evil in the world around us.

Its message, that evil succeeds only if good people choose comfort over stopping it, still holds water.

Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant once again hushed rumors of a reunion tour that British tabloid newspaper, "The Sun," published on Sept. 26. The remainder of the band has been rehearsing with another singer, one they can go on tour with next summer.

Every weekend at night before I go out, I like to get myself in a great mood by putting on some loud, live Led Zeppelin.

I don't spend my free time between classes pumping iron at the rec center or preaching gospel at campus ministries. Mostly, I'm on the Internet.

Yes, it seems Al Gore's greatest invention, the World Wide Web, is not just for stalking and pornography.

When I told Eddy Kwon, vocalist and fiddler of The Happy Maladies, that I'd like to write about his band, he invited me over for dinner.
