The Ball State University men's basketball team lost to visiting UC-Davis 60-58 Saturday afternoon at Worthen Arena.
The Cardinals (2-2) were led by freshman guard Jauwan Scaife's career-high-tying 14 points. Sophomore center Jarrod Jones had 12 points, while senior forward Terrence Watson had his first double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
For the Aggies (3-3), Dominic Calegari had a game-best 24 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point land. Joe Harden had 17 points, while Mark Payne added 11 points.
The Cardinals led 32-28 at halftime, but untimely turnovers and a stifling Aggies' zone defense caused problems for Ball State's ball handlers, forcing 16 turnovers in the game.
