First Student Center renovations to be complete in April '09

Students returning to Ball State University this week will notice changes in and around the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. A construction fence will be going up around the main entrance to the building this week as construction continues on the building.
Bruce Morgan, director of the Student Center and Programs, said the construction started a month ago and would be done in two phases.

Recruitment process to become less intimidating for potential fraternity, sorority members

This fall Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity will return to campus, and some changes to the old recruitment process will change the face of the greek community. There also is hope of a greek village to help Ball State University compete with other college campuses across the United States.

Ball State University police work hard to make sure students are safe and campus crime is low, Director of Public Safety Gene Burton said. "I believe Ball State University compares very well to other universities in terms of campus crime and student safety," he said.

Mitch Daniels and Jill Long Thompson vie for governor spot

Fraternity pleasantly surprised by chapter excellence award

The work Ball State University's Theta Chi fraternity did Spring Semester to improve itself paid off, allowing the house to win a chapter excellence award.
Theta Chi President Brandon Steinbrook said he was excited to receive the award especially because this was the first time the house has won since it was first presented in 1985.

In collaboration with the Indianapolis International Airport, Ball State University will offer students, faculty and staff a ride on the campus shuttle to the airport. Layne Cameron, associate director of University Communications, said those interested in the service must make reservations 72 hours in advance of the desired departure time.
