When Brady Hoke assumed the helm of Ball State University's football program, it would've been difficult to imagine the Cardinals opening a season with a tune-up game. Hoke had more pressing issues to consider, such as capturing a winning record and turning a program more shaky than a roller coaster into a consistent contender.

I am extremely interested in seeing the progress that CAMPUS Alliance produces this year. While I have a lot of faith in the leadership ability of Frank Hood and the rest of his slate, I have not been convinced that their platform can be entirely successful.
