FOOTBALL: ESPN2 picks up Cards' next game

Start time moved to 7 p.m.

With a chance to finish the regular season undefeated, the No. 17 Ball State University football will play its season finale in the national spotlight. ESPN announced Thursday that the Cardinals home game against Western Michigan University on Tuesday has been moved from ESPN360.

FOOTBALL: Running back carries Cardinals to victory with 177 yards

MOUNT PLEASANT, MICH. -In the biggest game of the season against the two-time defending Mid-American Conference champions, running back MiQuale Lewis rushed for the biggest total of his career. On 28 carries, Lewis ran for 11 more yards than his previous career high, racking up 177 yards against Central Michigan University in Ball State University's 31-24 victory Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS - Butler University did not stray far from its comfort zone against the Ball State University men's basketball team Wednesday night as the Cardinals lost 65-54 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. With Ball State focused early on Butler's 6-foot-8-inch Matt Howard by double-teaming the center, the Bulldogs were left with several open options beyond the 3-point line, including Butler's Garrett Butcher, who was three-for-four from beyond the arc.

INDIANAPOLIS - Hampered by injuries, the shortened bench came up short for Ball State University men's basketball coach Billy Taylor on Wednesday. The Cardinals were missing sophomore forward Malik Perry and freshman guard Randy Davis for the second-straight game to open the season.
