Building north of Neely Avenue to open in 2010, house 600 students

In 2010, Ball State University will offer rooms for 600 additional students with the construction of North Residence Hall, a building approved by the Board of Trustees Friday.
North Residence Hall, a $43 million project, will be located north of Neely Avenue, across from Studebaker East and West residence halls.

For two weeks, Ball State University architecture students have painted, stretched and pulled liquid latex material during a workshop that exposed them to the immediacy of a space as opposed to its representations in hand drawings and computer renderings.

Peaceworkers offer speakers, movie to promote harmony

Peaceworkers, a student-based organization that is dedicated to promoting peace in the community and internationally, is sponsoring Peace One Week to increase issue awareness among Ball State University students.
The organization raises awareness on issues of discrimination and the war in Iraq, Mona Luxion, president of Peaceworkers, said.

A 19-year-old Ivy Tech student was arrested on five charges Friday morning after police saw someone throw a stop sign and post into the grass at First Presbyterian Church at 1400 W. Riverside Ave.
Nicholas Gaunt was arrested on charges of theft, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, falsely identifying himself to officers and minor in possession of alcohol at 1 a.
