WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals ready for Semifinals
It's normal for games to increase in importance the deeper a team journeys into March. However, few games in the history of Ball State University women's basketball have carried the weight of Friday's Mid-American Conference tournament semifinal game. Ball State advanced to the semifinal game of the MAC tournament after a 56-53 win against Western Michigan University Tuesday.

MEN'S TENNIS: Cards up against Big Ten team

Ball State University men's tennis team, 4-6 on the season, plays University of Michigan, 8-3 for the season, Friday at Michigan. Michigan lost their last match to Texas A&M last weekend, 3-4. Last year, when the Cardinals played the Wolverines, they were defeated by Michigan.

Williams is the only Cardinal to qualify for the NCAA indoor national championships in Fayetteville, Ark. after being named 2007 Most Valuable Performer for the MAC indoor conference championships Feb 23.

GYMNASTICS: Squad returns from two-week break

After a thrilling home victory Feb. 23 against Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois University, the Ball State University gymnastics team had a two week break from competition. The team will return to action this weekend when they travel to Ypsilanti, Mich.

Men's basketball commits NCAA violations

Since his time at Ball State University, first-year coach Ronny Thompson was involved in two separate violations of NCAA rules. According to documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, the men's basketball coaching staff attended pre-season weight training events and open gym sessions.
