High school senior, junior college player fills holes in roster

Along with its 9-22 record, the two glaring weaknesses for Ball State University's men's basketball team last season were a lack of perimeter shooters and size in the low post.
Cardinals coach Ronny Thompson received national letters of intent Thursday from guard Rob Giles, forward Kevin Ford and forward/center Robert Martina.

Conference foe Western Michigan visit Cards Saturday

Two undefeated teams that have continually battled for the top spot in the Mid-American Conference will meet this weekend when Ball State University plays No. 50 Western Michigan University at home.
"Definitely we are excited about the match; it is for first place in conference," coach Bill Richards said.

Ball State opens three games against Kent State today

Five games out of the lead in the Mid-American Conference West Division, the Ball State University baseball team has an uphill climb to get into the MAC Tournament.
Only the top two seeds from each division and the two teams with the next best records regardless of division make the conference tournament.

The Ball State University softball team will travel to northern Ohio to continue Mid-American Conference play this weekend.
The Cardinals (13-22, 4-4 MAC) will play a doubleheader against the University of Toledo (6-20, 2-4 MAC) today. Ball State will then play a game against Bowling Green State University (19-6, 4-2 MAC) Saturday and Sunday.
