Team gets road win after former Marine blocks a field goal

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - With two seconds remaining in Saturday's game at the Naval Academy it looked as though Ball State University would lose its second game of the season by a last-second field goal.
Then Navy's victory was snatched away by a former Marine.
Ball State defensive lineman Brandon Crawford, a 31-year-old who spent four years in the Marine Corps, broke through the left side of the line and blocked a potential game-winning field goal kick.

Navy gets more yards on ground, but BSU delivers final blow

Annapolis, Md. - After relying heavily on its passing game during the first two weeks of the season, Ball State University's offense was finally able to find success in the running game.
The Cardinals used the dual attack of sophomore running back MiQuale Lewis and freshman Frank Edmonds to tally 262 yards on 42 carries.

Two freshmen win championships at Fall Invitational

After freshman Eduardo Pavia scored his final point in the Ball State Tennis Invitational Sunday morning, the freshman started pumping his fist and screamed, "Let's go Ball State!" to pump up his teammates.
Both Pavia and freshman Shaun Bussert won their individual flights in last weekend's season opener.

Ball State's historic losing streak at 11; coach not concerned

For the 11th straight match, the Ball State University women's volleyball team came up short.
The Cardinals were competing in the Iowa Invitational this weekend and lost to the College of Charleston 3-0 (30-24, 30-15, 30-25), the University of Iowa 3-0 (30-23, 30-26, 30-28) and The University of Texas at Arlington 3-2 (30-18, 26-30, 23-30, 30-23, 15-13).

Last-second goal hands Cards their sixth straight loss

With time already expired, Miami University used a penalty corner goal to extend Ball State University's losing streak to six games, as the Cardinals lost 3-2 to open the Mid-American Conference season Saturday.
The RedHawks were awarded a penalty corner as time ran out.

Coach says Cards playing best soccer since coming to BSU

While the Ball State University women's soccer team lost both of its games this weekend, coach Michelle Salmon said her team is playing its best soccer since she arrived at the university in 2006.
Ball State (2-4) lost to Indiana University 2-1 Sunday and Eastern Illinois University 1-0 Friday.
