Large fans turnout to see Cardinals blowout Bulls for second win in MAC

Saturday's football game had been over for more than 30 minutes, but about 40 students lingered outside Fisher Football Training Complex to cheer the Ball State players leaving the facility. It isn't unusual to see a crowd, mostly composed of family and friends, hang around after a home game to offer support to the players. This time, however, a small smattering of the 3,800 students that attended the game scattered in the after crowd.

Ball State beats Buffalo for second win after historic losing streak

Returning to Worthen Arena for the first time in two weeks, the Ball State University women's volleyball team completed a 3-0 (30-17, 30-17, 30-25) sweep of the University at Buffalo Saturday to improve to 2-2 in the Mid-American Conference, 3-13 overall. The victory is the Cardinals' second in a row after defeating the University of Toledo Thursday.

Playing without MiQuale Lewis for the first time in 2007, the Ball State University football team rushed for a season-high 274 yards in the 49-14 victory against the University at Buffalo Saturday. In four games Lewis was averaging more than 110 yards a game with a 4.

Ball State outshot by Chippewas 10-6, falls to 0-4 in MAC

For the first 21 minutes of play Sunday, Ball State University fought Central Michigan University to a standstill, as neither team scored a goal. However, it was then the Chippewas unleashed their offense and scored two goals in a 2:27 span. The Cardinals were unable to recover from the quick onslaught and fell 3-0 to Central Michigan.

Ball State honors championship team; starts conference 2-0

There was Charlie Cardinal, the Pride of Mid-America marching band, screaming fans and tackles, but it was not a Ball State University football game; it was Ball State fĂștbol. The Ball State soccer team (5-4, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) celebrated its 2006 MAC championship Sunday in front of a record number of fans, 759, including President Jo Ann Gora and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tom Collins.

MEN'S TENNIS: Players compete in national competition

Going into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Qualifying and Pre-qualifying Tournament Saturday, senior Jarrod Epkey gave junior Jose Perdomo one piece of advice. "Do your thing, just play tennis," he said. Perdomo made it into the fourth round, before losing to University of Arizona senior Bruno Alcala, 6-3 7-6(3).

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals' youngest players start strong

As the season begins, the three youngest players on Ball State University's women's tennis team are starting to achieve success. Sophomore Sophie Quist won the singles flight A consolation bracket, freshman Hayley Hall advanced to the finals of singles flight C and freshman Georgina Thomson advanced to the semifinals of the singles flight D in the Ball State Fall Invitational Friday and Saturday.
