With a 3-2 win Friday, the Ball State University soccer team lost its program-record shutout streak at seven games. One of the most important players to the streak was junior Jen Vilkoski. While things are going great for the center defender now, a little more than a year ago, her situation was not as easy.

Junior Chris Clancy works both offense and defense

Chris Clancy is listed as an outside linebacker on Ball State University's roster, but Saturday the junior was lined up as a running back for the Cardinals' first offensive play against Western Michigan University.
Though Ball State's 34.1 points per game average leads the Mid-American Conference, the Cardinals' offense has struggled in two areas during past weeks - the running game and quarterback protection.

Regular season ends with game against Missouri State Bears

The last time Ball State University was preparing for a game with Missouri State University, the Cardinals ranked last in the Mid-American Conference with a 0-4 record and appeared to be struggling.
Ball State responded by outshooting an opponent for the first time in 2007, led by sophomore forward and MAC goals leader Brooke MacGillivary's hat trick, as the Cardinals collected their first league win, 3-0 against Missouri State.

Ten Mid-American Conference teams are playing games within the conference this week while the Ball State defense will again face a running quarterback Juice Williams when it plays Illinois. Ball State (5-3) vs. Illinois (5-3) Three weeks ago Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour ran for 146 yards and a touchdown against Ball State.
