Following Sunday's soccer game, senior Lindsay Martin smiled and even jumped up and down as she went around retelling her story from the game. The defender scored the goal that gave Ball State University a 1-0 win against Miami University in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament at the Ball State Soccer Field.

Entering the 2007-2008 season, the big knock on the Ball State University men's basketball team is a lack of height, as junior forward Anthony Newell, at 6'5", is the tallest player on the roster. The Cardinals spent Sunday's exhibition game against Anderson University setting to work on proving that a lack of size won't keep them from dominating the boards, grabbing 24 offensive rebounds in an 82-61 victory against the Division III Ravens.

"I'm glad we're not playing in the MAC championship game right now," Roller said following her team's 75-68 win.

One day after the University of Toledo beat the Ball State University women's swimming and diving team, the Cardinals rebounded and defeated Bowling Green State University. Ball State beat Bowling Green 193 to 107 as the Cardinals won 11 of the day's 16 events.

MEN'S TENNIS: Team ends fall season with few wins at tourney

The men's tennis team didn't win an A-flight or doubles match as they competed in the Texas Invitational last weekend, the team's last match of the fall season. Senior Jarrod Epkey and junior Jose Perdomo made it the furthest of any Cardinal on Saturday. Epkey lost to University of Arizona's Peter Zimmer (6-2, 6-4) and Perdomo dropped his match to Boise State University's Steve Roberson (6-3, 7-5) in the round of 32.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Cardinals win season-high 2nd straight match

For the second straight match, the Ball State University women's volleyball team came away with a victory, matching its longest win streak of the season. The Cardinals defeated the University of Akron on the road 3-2 (25-30, 30-27, 23-30, 30-25, 16-14). They improved to 5-22 and 4-10 in the Mid-American Conference with the victory.
