Team get extra time to recover from injuries following two losses

After 10 weeks, Ball State University football players and coaches will receive their first bye week of the fall. Though football teams have mixed feelings toward bye weeks, Cardinal coach Brady Hoke said his team is in need of a break before playing its last two games of the season.

Mascot from Akron remains undefeated, faces Big Red next

Zippy clinched a spot in the Capital One Bowl Mascot Challenge playoffs and the top spot overall with an eighth consecutive win last week. Zippy (8-0), the mascot of the University of Akron, defeated Cosmo (4-4) of Brigham Young University with 26,344 votes compared to Cosmo's 24,887.
