Former Ball State University basketball player Steven Horton was arrested Monday on two counts of failure to appear, stemming from alcohol-related charges, according to officials from the Delaware County Prosecutor's office.

Horton left the basketball team in April to pursue other opportunities, according to a press release from former Ball State coach Ronny Thompson.

Horton started 24 games for Ball State in his single season after transferring from Cincinnati State Technical College.

He was released when the county court opened on Monday, after he posted bond and was assigned a new court date, according to officials from the Delaware County Jail.
