Spots on the buses cost less than $500 for three-day trip

After 11 years, excited fans eagerly awaiting a Ball State University appearance in a bowl game will embark on an eight-hour journey from Muncie to Toronto aboard chartered buses. The Alumni Association announced Wednesday that it finalized a package for fans to travel to the International Bowl.

International Bowl: Noon, Jan. 5, ESPN2 Ball State (7-5) vs. Rutgers (7-5) More than a decade after its last appearance in a bowl game, Ball State plays Rutgers in the International Bowl in Toronto. The Scarlet Knights are led by junior running back Ray Rice, who was third in the nation and first overall among players from BCS conference schools in rushing yards with 1,732.

It was a thorn that continued to sting Wednesday night, as Purdue University bombarded Ball State with 3-pointers in the second half, overcoming a two-point deficit to earn a 70-57 victory against the Cardinals.

People who follow Ball State basketball closely know no healthy player on the team's roster is taller than 6-feet-4-inches, meaning most Ball State opponents have at least one player four inches taller than the tallest Cardinal.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Ball State travels to Indiana State

Playing its seventh and eighth game in two weeks, the Ball State University women's basketball team is trying to study game tape and finals material the next three days. With games against Indiana State University Thursday and the University of Evansville Saturday, the Cardinals are trying to stop a three-game losing streak.
