Board of Trustees to vote on policy Dec. 14

If the Ball State University Board of Trustees approves a smoking ban, smokers will need to be careful where they light up unless they want to pay a fine, according to the Smoke-Free Implementation Task Force report. Kay Bales, vice president of student affairs, said the Task Force released the report late last week, and it explains how the university will institute a smoke-free campus policy if it is passed.

Delta Tau Delta's headquarters bans group from social events

The Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity headquarters has placed a cease and desist order on the Ball State University chapter of the fraternity.
According to a press statement from the headquarters, it said the cease and desist order will remain in effect until the headquarters and the university have completed an investigation of the fraternity's involvement in a recent theft at Theta Chi Fraternity's house.

Library works to develop program for putting material on Second Life

Philip Deloria, assistant archivist for digital projects and University Archives, operates in the world of Second Life as Deodatus Janus, which will exhibit library resources.

Organization helps Muncie children with Angel Tree project

Students who want to get some extra volunteer hours or enjoy some holiday spirit will be wrapping gifts donated to Muncie children.
Coordinator Heidi Morrow said the wrapping will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Student Volunteer Services office in the Ball State University L.
