Brown takes position as athletics director after 17 years at BSU

Former Ball State University associate athletics director Ken Brown began his duties today as the athletics director at Lambuth University.

Brown retired Dec. 20 after 17 years at Ball State University to accept the position in Jackson, Tenn.

Brown began working at Ball State in 1991 as the director of athletics business services. He was promoted to associate athletic director in 2003 and the deputy athletics director in 2006.

Lambuth has 16 athletics teams that compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The women's basketball team won the 2007 NAIA National championship.

As deputy athletics director at Ball State, Brown supervised the Department of Intercollegiate Ahtletics' finances and internal operations. He also assisted Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tom Collins in the operations of the football and men's basketball teams.

Brown's duties at Lambuth will include advancing the comprehensive athletics programs.

Brown and Collins could not be reached for comment.
