Staff member claims harassment worsened after filing law suit

More than a year since filing a discrimination lawsuit against Ball State University, Maetta Vance said she continues to experience racial harassment daily.
Vance, a black 19-year employee of Banquet and Catering Services, said four white coworkers and supervisors have harassed and discriminated against her in the workplace on the basis of race, and continue to do so.

Senior to enter multilingual film in Sundance, Canne festivals

Senior Danilo Santos' taste in Spanish music has increased his chances of winning an Academy Award. Santos, with some of his fellow telecommunications students, finished producing the university's first Spanish movie last week. The short film was produced in Spanish and English, Santos said.

Sorority to donate proceeds, winner to receive $500

Eleven Ball State University men will vie for the title of Mr. Phi-Nominal and a $500 prize tonight at Pruis Hall.
Alpha Phi Sorority President Lauren Madden said contestants would display talents for a panel of judges such as singing, dancing and jumping rope for points.

Ball State University officials have not drawn any conclusions about whether Delta Tau Delta fraternity had alcohol at its house during the weekend, said Cara Luyster, assistant director of the Office of Student Life.
Interfraternity Council President Cody Willis said Monday he would meet with Luyster to be briefed on the allegations Tuesday, but he could not be reached for comment.

Congressman Mike Pence, who represents the sixth district of Indiana, will visit Ball State University at 10 a.m.
Matt Lloyd, spokesman for Pence, said the representative will speak to an international relations class about the future of global HIV/AIDS funding in Arts and Communication Building Room 404.
