When students launch shots of hard liquor into caffeinated energy drinks, they are in for more than just a buzz, according to David Pearson, director of the strength and research laboratory.
Mixing stimulants with alcohol is a more dangerous practice than alcohol consumption alone, he said.

BSU Foundation at $11.5 million, according to mid-year report

The Ball State University Foundation has raised more than $11.5 million in the first half of the year, almost 70 percent of the amount raised all of last year, according to its mid-year report.
"We're excited about the future and greater support," Ben Hancock, vice president for university advancement, said.

16 students are selected to discuss week-long events

More than seven months before the events they plan, the Homecoming Steering Committee was appointed. Michele Johnson, director of alumni special events, said after an application and interview process she and other committee advisers chose the 16 members of the 2008 committee.
