Point guard Davis will play for Ball State starting next season

A senior from Plymouth High School committed to play for the Ball State University men's basketball team. Randy Davis, a 5-foot-11-inch point guard, said he committed to Ball State for next year after visiting the university Tuesday. "I really enjoyed the visit when I went there Tuesday," Davis said.

Employees, athletes can face sanctions for betting on NCAA

While people across the country are filling out polls for the NCAA basketball tournament, members of the Ball State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are not. If they do, they could lose their job or eligibility.
According to the 2007-2008 NCAA Division I manual, staff members within athletics departments, non-athletics department staff members who have responsibilities within or over the athletics department, staff members of a conference office and student-athletes are not allowed to knowingly participate in sports wagering activities or provide information to individuals involved in or associated with an type of sports wagering.

With Ball State not making the men's basketball NCAA Tournament, Charlie Cardinal will be sitting on his couch today and Friday watching the first round games. However, Charlie has a rooting interest and connection to all 64 teams. We think he is rooting for his cousin at Louisville.

For the second consecutive day, the Ball State University baseball team had its game canceled because of rain.
The Cardinals' game against the University of Indianapolis was canceled Wednesday, one day after Ball State's game against Anderson University was rained out.

For the second time this week, the Ball State University softball team canceled a home doubleheader because of bad weather.
Today's scheduled doubleheader between Ball State and Butler University was canceled Wednesday because of heavy rain. No make-up date was announced for the games.

The Ball State University baseball team swept the weekly Mid-American Conference West Division awards Tuesday.
Kolbrin Vitek won the MAC West Pitcher of the Week and Zach Dygert won the MAC West Player of the Week, for their play during the Cardinals' road trip last week.

The Ball State University softball coaches will conduct a four-day all skills camp this summer for kids.
The camp, which will be directed by coach Craig Nicholson and assistant coach Stephanie DeFeo, will take place June 22-26 at the BSU Softball Complex.
