BASEBALL: MAC games canceled because of snow
For the sixth time in the past seven tries, the Ball State University baseball team had its game canceled because of inclement weather.
The Cardinals' three-game road trip at the University of Akron this weekend, which was scheduled to be the teams' Mid-American Conference opener, was canceled because of snow. The teams will not make up the series.
The games were supposed to begin Friday but the series opener was delayed to Saturday. The series was then moved to Kent State University's stadium because it has Field Turf, which offered a better chance for the games to be played. However, snow caused Ball State and Akron to cancel the series.
Earlier this week Ball State's first two scheduled home games, against Anderson University and the University of Indianapolis, were canceled because of rain.
The Cardinals' MAC opener is now scheduled for Friday through Saturday at Kent State. Ball State also has games scheduled against the University of Notre Dame and Anderson Tuesday and Wednesday.
