BSU starting defense plays well but loses in team's spring game

When Ball State University linebacker Spain Cosby returned a Tanner Justice interception to inside his team's five-yard line, it seemed the score of Saturday's spring scrimmage was about to turn ugly.
Despite a 23-0 victory for the Cardinal team, which teamed the starting offense with the second-string defense, Cosby's pick failed to produce points.

Western Michigan hands Cardinals loss before MAC tourney

Coming into the weekend undefeated in conference play, the Ball State University men's tennis team's was planning on carrying its momentum to a first-place spot in the Mid-American Conference tournament.
Instead, with its one loss to rival No. 71 Western Michigan University, the team has to fight for the second spot to the tournament on April 26.

Ball State (27-21, 5-5 MAC) beat Miami (16-18, 7-3 MAC) 3-1 Sunday after losing its first game of the weekend 1-0 to the RedHawks Saturday.

The Ball State University women's tennis team lost two home conference matches this weekend to No. 60 Western Michigan University and Bowling Green State University. The Cardinals (8-10, 1-6 MAC) fell both days by 6-1 scores. "I thought on Friday [against Western Michigan] we came out with the right frame of mind and energy level, but we were just beaten by a better team," head coach Kathy Bull said.

The Ball State University sophomore got a hole-in-one on the par-3, 14th hole, the first of her career.
