With a series split against Miami University to end the first half of Mid-American Conference play, the Ball State University softball team feels well about its standing in the conference. Ball State (27-21, 5-5 MAC) beat Miami (16-18, 7-3 MAC) 3-1 Sunday after losing its first game of the weekend 1-0 to the RedHawks Saturday.

The Ball State University women's tennis team lost two home conference matches this weekend to No. 60 Western Michigan University and Bowling Green State University. The Cardinals (8-10, 1-6 MAC) fell both days by 6-1 scores. "I thought on Friday [against Western Michigan] we came out with the right frame of mind and energy level, but we were just beaten by a better team," head coach Kathy Bull said.

MEN'S GOLF: Cards 13th at UK Bluegrass Invitational

The Ball State University men's golf team is in 13th place out of 18 teams at the University of Kentucky Owens/Brewer Invitational. After 14 holes of play, the tournament's second round was suspended due to poor weather conditions. "We had brutal weather conditions," head coach Mike Fleck said.
