Central Michigan University defeated the Ball State University field hockey team 3-1 Saturday afternoon, extending the Cardinals' losing streak to a school record 10 games.
The Chippewas spoiled senior day for Ball State quickly by jumping into the lead when senior midfielder Amanda Lucik scored less than three minutes into the contest.

Playing its first-ever game as a nationally ranked program, it took 30 minutes for No. 25 Ball State University to roll Saturday before pulling away with a 24-7 win against Western Kentucky.
Leaning on the running game, the Cardinals scored 17 points in the second half. The defense stepped up with another strong effort and was 58 seconds away from posting its first back-to-back shutouts since 1978.

Cardinals to play three ranked teams at Notre Dame invite

Ball State University once again has an opportunity to make a splash nationally. This time, though, it is in men's tennis.
The Cardinals will have a chance to knock off nationally ranked teams this weekend in the Notre Dame Fall Invitational as three of the participating schools finished last season in the top 75 rankings.

BSU tries to focus on this season after tough loss last year

Although it is focused on looking forward, the Ball State University soccer team still has some hard feelings from last year.
After 110 scoreless minutes in the semifinals of the 2007 Mid-American Conference Tournament, Bowling Green State University advanced to the finals with a 3-0 advantage in penalty kicks against Ball State.

Cards want win on senior day to avoid historic losing streak

If the Ball State University field hockey team needed any extra motivation to break its record-tying nine-game losing streak, it will get it Saturday when the team celebrates senior day against Central Michigan University. Though the Cardinals have two more home games after Saturday, senior day ceremonies will be held then because it is the final Saturday home game, allowing more family members to attend.

First-place Ball State travels to NIU, WMU for conference play

Come Sunday morning, the Ball State University women's volleyball team will have a clearer idea of where it stands in the Mid-American Conference West Division standings.
The Cardinals (7-11, 3-1 MAC) are in a three-way tie for first place in the West with Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University.

Regular season matches are when wins and losses really count, but once you put "conference" in the title of a tournament it doesn't matter if it's the preseason or deep into regular season play.
Ball State University women's tennis coach Kathy Bull said the Ball State Invitational earlier this season was relaxed, but the Mid-American Conference Fall Invitational in Kalamazoo, Mich.

After the Ball State University women's golf team won its second tournament of the fall, Kirsty O'Connor won her second career Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week award.
O'Connor was named the weekly award winner Thursday by the conference.
