Today Muncie has a winter weather advisory bringing icy roads, cold wind chills, and of course snow. The snow will continue into tomorrow evening.

Ball State dance majors brought a new addition to the monthly “First Thursday” gallery walk in Downtown Muncie. They performed a unique routine in the Gearbox building choreographed by Sidra Bell, who is a visiting artist from New York. Bell is visiting Ball State’s dance department for three weeks and is hoping to make the biggest impact possible.

With the weekend nearly here, temperatures will go back up into the upper 40's. Snow is expected soon after. Weather forecaster Balint Szalavari has the story.
After seeing our high temperature this morning around 1:00 am, we fell into the mid 30s by late this evening while seeing a few rain/sleet showers around the area. Temperatures stay below freezing for Thursday, however start to rebound into the 40s by Friday and into the weekend.
Even though it was very warm early this morning, temperatures are falling with a slight chance for some flurries later on. Weather Forecaster Ethan Rosuck has the forecast.
Cooler weather for Wednesday into Thursday before another round of mild temperatures arrive to start the weekend.
Soon the campus will be slowing down and new speed reductions will be changing on the major roads of campus. McKinley, Neely, Riverside, University and Talley avenues will all be reducing their speed limits from 30 to 20 miles per hour. Jim Lowe, associate Vice President for Facilities Planning and Management says the lower speeds will help enhance a driver’s perception of the road and will help prevent accidents. “The 10 mile per hour decrease increases your zone of vision by four times.

The Muncie Street Department is without one of its brand new salt trucks. Street Supt. Duke Campbell said the 2016 Western Star truck, valued at $140, 000, caught fire in the garage, Tuesday morning.
