U.S. Senate hopeful to speak at Ball State

Senate hopeful Dan Coats will make an appearance at Ball State on Tuesday.

The Republican candidate decided to speak after making plans to meet with President Jo Ann Gora and take a tour of the university, Michael Thomas, technology officer of College Republicans, said.

"His campaign team called us to say he'd be available for about 30 minutes to speak," Thomas said. "It was very last minute."

Thomas said he doesn't know what Coats will discuss, but he'll likely talk about important issues in the upcoming midterm election.

"It's a great chance to be informed and hopefully learn more about him," he said. "There might be a chance for people to ask questions before they make a decision on who they vote for."

Coats will speak in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Ballroom at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dan Coats could be a lobbyist on Pluto and he would still represent Hoosiers much, much better than his liberal, health care voting Dem opponent. Check out the polls -- Coats is ahead by 20 plus points. I would guess that a clear majority of Hoosiers agree with his positions on the issues facing us...

Hey, Honest Abe, perhaps you should head out to the student center on Tuesday at 1:30 to hear what Dan Coats has to say. Throwing around accusations like you did here is not constructive to our debate of the issues facing Indiana and our country. We have a staggering national debt, unacceptably high unemployment numbers, and countless other problems that will face our next Congress. If you actually want to learn something about the issues so you don't have to throw out baseless Democratic talking points like a zombie, come on out. You might learn something.

Dan Coats is a millionaire lobbyist who hasn't lived in Indiana for years and has retirement homes in Virginia and North Carolina. I don't know who else could be more out of touch with Hoosiers.
