Fresh off a 7-0 win against IUPUI, the Ball State women's tennis team will try to get a winning streak going early in the 2012 season as it faces Dayton and Wright State late in the week.

On Thursday evening, the Dayton Flyers come to Muncie to face the Cardinals. Dayton is coming off a 7-0 loss to Ohio State.

Just a short 19 hours from Thursday's match, the Cardinals will pick up the rackets again for an early afternoon match against the Raiders. Wright State's last match was a 5-2 loss to SIU Edwardsville.

Freshman Courtney Wild, No. 1 singles player from last week, said her desire to play and win is the main reason for her spot.

"I wanted to play No. 1, and I think that's why I'm playing No. 1," Wild said. "I think to win, and to be the best you can be, you have to want it more than the other person." said.

Thursday's match begins at 6 p.m. and Friday's starts at 1 p.m. Both matches are at the Muncie YMCA.
